    Being/In the world

A person enters a waiting room. He takes a number, sits on a bench, stares at a screen. He sees a pile of newspapers, takes one, flips a few pages. Looking out the window, he sees a pigeon - ordinary, ugly. They are always there. This project is about the tension between frantic movement and standing still. The potential of movement is not movement; it is the moment between movements. Waiting is the moment between moments. In the project, the waiting room is filled with pigeons, frozen by photography. The photograph kills the pigeon at the moment of its capture. It is stripped of its frenetic characteristic and becomes a dead object. Pigeons symbolize dreariness and frantic movement/ through them I create a long period of time without movement. I impose my human point of view on them, creating a reversal: I look at the frozen time while the pigeon stripped of its frantic movement. Lack of stimuli is not frozen time/ the frozen image invites people to pay attention to their interiors. What are they looking at? Are they bored? Where do they focus their attention?
