Blinker
Medical aid to induce blinking in a paralyzed eye How many times have you blinked today? We blink between 15 to 20 times a minute, and over 20,000 times a day. Blinking protects the eye from dust and dirt, offering moister and lubrication with a thin, uniform layer of fluid, while the brain receives a short and vital respite. But what happens when the natural blinking mechanism does not work? My project is a medical device that induces artificial blinking using an innovative technology I developed in collaboration with Rabin Medical Center. Advisor: Avigdor Regev Photography: Nadav Goren
