Porcelain and ancient clay, 2020 This series of porcelain vessels were designed combining cutting edge technology with archaic relics. The objects were created utilizing a 3D printer, to which I attached handles derived from broken remnants of ancient urns that were collected by my mother during her morning walks along the beaches of Caesarea. The handles were glued onto the vessels using an epoxy in which I added a blue stain, to evoke the connection to the shade of the Mediterranean Sea from which the sand and ruins were housed. The series emphasizes both the fragile and sustainable nature of ceramics, while combining today’s most innovative techniques with traditional approaches from our ancient history.
