Detecting trapped people and bodies under wreckage by sensing volatile organic compounds After the collapse of a building, the detection of trapped people is the most critical stage. How they are detected has to be as accurate as possible in order to focus the rescue efforts and save valuable time. Studies have shown that volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted from trapped people and bodies. FindU is an autonomous tool with an artificial nose, which makes its way through the rubble, "smells" the emitted compounds, and with that contributes to the accuracy of the rescue efforts.
