My project deals with the gaps and tensions that exist between me and my family and the kibbutz and religious society in which I grew up. Questions about myself in relation to society, my sexual orientation, gender, and clothing items that were an integral part of me in my many attempts to express uniqueness and to stand out. All of these led me on a journey to myself and to "playing" with the clothing items that make up the collection in the deconstruction technique. By using ready-made clothing items, disassembling them, and casting new values that did not exist in the items before, I preserve the tension between the original and its new representation and between me and the original and my past. Disassembly and assembly take place simultaneously in the clothing and within me, in an attempt to “disassemble” my complex personality in order to understand myself, if such a thing is even possible. Materials: A variety of clothes and laundry bags taken from the kibbutz warehouse and the family closet. Techniques: Disassembly, pulling threads, and sewing of the clothes. Mentor: Shelly Satat Kombor Theoretical Advising: Dr. Tal Frenkel Alroy
