"Alice had no idea what Latitude was, or Longitude either, but thought they were nice grand words to say" If you ask a classmate or close friend how they are doing, more often than not you will hear "great" or at least "ok". In this piece, I showcase how curiosity and a sense of surprise can help in dealing with the challenges of day-to-day life, and attempt to address these "whitewashed" answers in the same perspective. This piece is a glass sculptural Installation, created using hot glassblowing techniques. My starting point was creating vegetables – basic and familiar shapes. Yet the vegetables are pink and overgrown, different from those we know. The viewer is encouraged to actively experience this "garden" directly from up-close. This will cultivate many different perspectives that may allow for a variety of different interpretations of this piece.
