Tailored distance
The project presents an analogy between the Rococo period and our time. The Rococo period symbolizes, in my point of view, an exaggerated period, full of volumes, avant-garde and abundance, accompanied by a disconnect between the aristocratic classes and the common people. The effects of this gap include feelings of frustration, helplessness, disruption of democracy, and a desire for social justice, these feelings are typical of the current situation here in the country of Israel. I connected the Rococo spirit to the world of tailored clothing characterized by high-class attire, meticulous and dignified attire, with sharp and clear lines that maintain restraint and seriousness. I desire to create a clothing system with volumes that keep distance from the body. I use the "Handicap Principle" and strengthen it, strengthening the feeling of detachment with the help of volumes that create a silhouette so that the garment physically causes the body to move away from those around it and creates social distance. Materials: Cool wool, home-dyed cotton, twill fabric, satin fabric, pudansh, linen, velvet, and baby drill Techniques: tailoring, fleece, smocking, and hand-sewing Mentor: Doron Ashkenazi Theoretical Advising: Dr. Tal Frenkel Alroy
