    Tilling in Clay

Parametric design in organic matter In nature, streams and rivers are shaped by flowing water. Wishing to chart an artificial path for the flow of water, I explored patterns of movement and morphological organization through digital design. The project studied various surfaces created by the intersection of wet clay and a CNC machine. Playing with many variables of the clay and the machine, I have given the material additional properties such as increasing surface area, creating trapped air ducts and developing unique morphologies. The products of the study are a series of water jugs that demonstrate filtration, cooling and the ability to change color, using clay and appropriate morphology.
