Like a puzzle, the three pieces together make a story; no independent piece could tell the story by itself. Still, looking at the pieces individually, can help the viewers imagine the work and apply their artistic thinking to build a story from their personal consciousness. To understand the pieces as a whole - made from a portrait, an image of a place, and a text - I was able to express the village as true and pure as it could be, without adornment. This is home, this is where I have grown up and lived, where I would be living and even grow older. It is not a fairytale place; it is a hard, dangerous, beautiful, complicated, and, most importantly, a REAL place. The work expresses the dynamics between the three pieces in a dramatic way that tells not only a subjective story, but also a social-political one.
